About Greg Martin

Greg Martin represents the Tennessee State House of Representatives for District 26, which encompasses parts of Hixson, Big Ridge, Middle Valley, Harrison, Soddy Daisy, Ooltewah and Chattanooga.

He previously served in the Hamilton County Commission for District 3 in 2016, encompassing Hixson, Big Ridge, Middle Valley, and Lakesite.

Greg Martin served District 3 as the representative on the Hamilton County School Board from 2012 to 2016. He also served on the Long Beach, MS School Board from 1993 to 1996. Martin is a 1981 graduate of Hixson High School, has a B.A. Degree from Bryan College, and Masters and Doctoral Degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Martin and his four sons, Ben, Austin, Jay, and Peyton, have been educated in the public schools in the District 3. He is the son of Dianne Killough Martin and the late John Martin, both of Hixson. Martin’s wife, Sheila, is a teacher in the public schools of Hamilton County.

Martin is the Past President of the Hixson Kiwanis Club, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Teen Challenge MidSouth, and serves on the Advisory Board of Directors of the Friends of Hixson. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce. He was named the 2015 PTA School Board Member of the Year in the State of Tennessee. He is active in his church, Calvary Chapel Northside. Martin is a REALTOR with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Realty Center in Hixson.
